Learn to take control of your images and make more use of the features on your camera. Learn how simple decisions on camera settings can have huge impacts on your composition and create more interesting photos.
This course launches you into the creative and exhilerating world of photography. Class based sessions are balanced with outdoor sessions in natural bushland settings for three of the four sessions. Whilst one session is fully dedicated to a fieldtrip in the city where numerous techniques ranging from macro to nature and travel photography are applied.
Topics covered include camera equipment, apertures, shutter speeds, iso, light, whitebalance and composition. Techniques used for photographing specific subject matter is also covered.
Your instructor, Kaylene Biggs is a qualified and practising professional photographer. She has won numerous state and national professional photography awards, and is an Associate of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography.
She started conducting photography courses as part of the Community Education Courses in 2001 at the University of Queensland.
The course is designed for anyone who would like to refresh their photography skills or anyone who is new to photography.
Anyone who has a camera, whether it be film, digital, SLR or a compact camera is catered for.
The course is based on theoretical knowledge presented in an easy to understand format and practical knowledge gained through many years of professional practice in the field.
